A MINING town in outback NSW will be honoured on the National Heritage list for its contribution to developing a “modern and prosperous” nation.
The Federal Government today announced Australia’s ‘Silver City’, Broken Hill, would join 102 other places on the National Heritage list.

Now it's official! First town to be listed.
I made a special effort to see the dignitaries make the official announcement in front of the Town Hall façade. Ten years in the making and certainly a very proud and joyous occasion for my iconic home town. A fitting tribute to the people, the town and the landscape that has given and contributed so much to make this great country what it is today.
