G'day ASF members,
I was just wondering if anybody was from Cairns as I am moving shortly for some personal reasons. I am really looking forward to the move.
Largely because of the wonderful weather as compared to Melbourne. I am sick and tired of the cold weather. I love weather as it helps some pain related issues I have over the years.
I have been looking at suburbs such as Trinity Beach. My wife and son will move down at a latter date once I have worked out the place and gotten comfortable, only then will my family consider moving down.
The decision was primarily between Cairns and Townsville. I wanted to avoid Townsville because of the army. I am ex-army and unfortunately I got injured, therefore, I did not want that constant reminder in my face despite Cairns perhaps having less job opportunities vs Townsvile. I am 27, and I work in the disability sector. So I am hoping to get work within Sport & Disability, or otherwise would be happy to work in an Aged Care.
Any advise,or guidance would be greatly appreciated as it is a big move for myself and family having spent most of my life in Melbourne and NSW ( was not a big fan for a variety of reasons - no disrespect NSW residents :) )
